Profile

IT Corporate Counsel Responsibilities: Engage with Operational, IT, Compliance, and Legal teams to provide legal guidance and subject matter expertise on privacy, analytics, and data security. Draft, review, and interpret legal requirements relating to technology programs, cybersecurity, privacy, IT contracts, and technology development. Provide counsel on cybersecurity and privacy laws, risk assessment and management, as relevant for various projects as assigned. Remaining up to date on relevant privacy, data security, and consumer protection laws and regulations. Help develop, enhance, scale, and run the existing IT security policies and protocols, working to ensure the program’s ongoing operation. Provide Legal support in responding to privacy and cybersecurity related incidents and investigations. Plan and execute legal requirement reviews for system requirements, security, and privacy. Provide advice and counsel in IT controls and vendor contracts. Complete audits as assigned by the Legal team management.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: A JD Degree from an accredited law school. Active member in good standing in the bar of at least one U.S. state/jurisdiction. 3-5 years firm or in-house experience with a focus on technology, privacy, and/or cybersecurity. Strong analytical, organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance. Knowledge of incident response frameworks and handling procedures, data protection, and privacy and security laws. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact and relate to personnel at all levels within the organization and to effectively support and defend unbiased findings and legal opinions to management. Capable of leading or facilitating meetings with Director level (and higher) attendees. Ability to work and assist in the development of a collaborative team environment. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
