ProfileStaff Attorney (Juvenile Reentry Project) Duties: Assist youth and young adults up to age 24 with legal issues resulting from involvement with the juvenile or criminal justice system. will provide re-entry legal services to youth and young adults residing in Lancaster and Douglas Counties that have been adjudicated in juvenile court, to address barriers to employment, housing and education. Providing legal assistance with: juvenile and adult record sealing, setting aside criminal convictions; housing rights including evictions; special education rights; and school disciplinary issues. Provide outreach and education to key stakeholders and youth about youth re-entry legal services via clinics and presentations, Develop resource materials for re-entering youth and stakeholders, Develop and maintain a blog, and Help recruit and train mentors to work with re-entering youth.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Must be licensed to practice law in Nebraska, have a current driverâ€™s license, and properly licensed and insured vehicle. Experience in working with youth or providing re-entry legal services. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to plan and work independently are required.
