Profile

Paralegal Responsibilities: Provide administrative and substantive legal support to attorneys and contract negotiators, including assistance with drafting legal correspondence, agreements and other legal documents. Build, manage, and complete privacy assessments, questionnaires, and data flow diagrams. Assist with the creation and administration of proposed data use cases and analysis of authorized use. Assist with evolving comprehensive enterprise-wide compliance program. Processing, responding to, and maintaining records related to customer due diligence assessments and questionnaires. Compliance record management, including working with privacy management software. Other projects and assignments (i.e. corporate record maintenance, merger and acquisitions support) as assigned. Participate in and/or lead special projects, including due diligence related to acquisitions and divestitures, legal research, data compilation, and analysis.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: College degree and 3+ years of related experience. Project management experience. Excellent interpersonal skills: collegial, and comfortable with frequent client-facing interactions (via e-mail, phone, and in-person). Strong verbal/written communication and business writing/legal drafting abilities. Comfortable working independently but with ability to identify issues and escalate accordingly. Motivated self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and adapt easily. Highly-organized with ability to efficiently multitask and prioritize work for several simultaneous tasks in a dynamic environment. Capacity to simultaneously manage multiple priorities. Strongly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat. Preferred Qualifications: Prior paralegal or business/legal affairs department experience. Experience drafting and negotiating basic commercial agreements, such as NDAs, trial agreements, and simple licensing agreements. Solid working knowledge of contractual and intellectual property issues.
