Prepaid Wireless Consumer Counsel
The candidate will support the sales channel for the distribution of Verizon prepaid services, including marketing, sales, distribution, and procurement operations (e.g., negotiating strategic agreements with authorized retailers and national retailers; managing regulatory, security, and privacy risks; and reviewing external communications and customer-facing materials. Conduct investigations into suspected misconduct in the sales channel. Provide analysis and day-to-day support for the innovative use of data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other data-driven technologies to promote the advancement of personalization, segmentation, and customer insights. Ensure compliance with existing policies, federal and state laws and regulations, as well as the firm’s Credo and associated policies, and assist in the formulation of solutions to any identified problem areas to ensure compliance, minimize company risk, and promote a positive customer experience. Provide legal counsel on maintaining the security of customers’ accounts and information. Interface with, and manage and coordinate the activities of, Verizon Legal Department attorneys who are available to consult on tax, employment matters, IP, regulation, anti-trust, litigation, corporate compliance, and other areas of expertise.
Qualification and ExperienceThe candidate should have a JD degree and 6+ years of relevant work experience. Bar membership and needed licenses/certification. Experience demonstrating the ability to identify and mitigate risk, establish trusting relationships with clients, and drive meaningful results. Legal practice experience with a corporate legal department or law firm. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time. Prior telecommunications experience. Must be detail-oriented and a self-starter with the ability to provide proactive, accurate, and effective legal support, work on multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, often unpredictable environment with competing priorities. Must have highly developed analytical reasoning skills, report analysis and keen attention to detail and processes, and excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills.
