Information Technology Specialist (CUSTSPT/INFOSEC), GS 9 Duties: The candidate serves as a service/support point of contact for Pacific Region information system users. Communicates with internal and external Army Cyber customers by conveying information in logical, concise, and organized manner. Continually evaluates operations in terms of meeting user needs, capabilities, costs, and maintenance schedules. Assists customers in determining problems with communications equipment and circuitry requirements. Answers calls from users requesting assistance with hardware, software, telecommunications, networks and security sensors. Provides telephone assistance, and/or remote control assistance when necessary to resolve problems. Analyzes system/circuit failures for issue resolution through network management tools. Plans authorized and non-authorized system interruption events to ensure availability of systems/networks. Develops procedures to support and improve incident handling and problem management activities. Coordinates security events to determine mission/system impact. Responds to computer viruses and vulnerability/malware detection.
Qualification and Experience
Specialized Experience: Must have 1+ year of specialized experience which includes; providing customer support for hardware, software, and telecommunication related problems; performing customer help desk duties by identifying user problems and determining the best possible solution; conducting risk and vulnerabilities assessments to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs of information systems, networks, and data; using software intended to ensure that automated systems are secure from unauthorized use. AND possess experience in Information Technology on each of the following competencies: Attention to Detail-Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy the expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality product and a services.
Education: Should have Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or JD degree.
