ProfileNational Service Officer Band The candidate will manage all VA (Department of Veterans Affairs) claims obtained in the field. Provide representation to veterans/families before the VA. Work within DOD, VBA, and VHA offices to ensure timely and professional care of warriors. Develop and maintain relationships with related health care and social service providers. Remain current with all VA and DOD laws, regulations, and benefits. Plan, organize, and conduct benefit educational seminars. Maintain and update company intranet electronic tracking systems. Develop community support and to speak on behalf of company. Assist in all grassroots efforts and support specific campaigns as needed. Develop relationships that will foster and engage warriors and caregivers with programs. Maintain yearly VA laws and regulations certification. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
A High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelorâ€™s Degree preferred. 2 years of experience as a veterans benefits advocate required. In lieu of advocate experience, Juris Doctorate will be considered (no practicing experience necessary). Should have extensive knowledge and experience involving all DOD programs and VA laws and regulations. Must have excellent organizational, written, and communication skills. Should have high level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs.
