ProfileEnvironmental, Health and Safety Counsel The candidate will be reporting to firm’s Director, Real Estate Law. Will be advising internal business partners on a broad range of global environmental, health and safety regulatory compliance matters for various real estate facilities including research and development, manufacturing, renewable energy, data centers, recycling, retail and enterprise. Developing strategies that prioritize regulatory compliance and mitigate business risk. Monitoring updates to global facility related environmental, health and safety regulations and developing company-wide compliance procedures. Overseeing environmental regulatory compliance matters, including investigating and responding to requests for information, compliance orders, enforcement actions and citations. Providing strategic guidance on managing relationships with various environmental regulatory bodies at all levels including developing communication plans, inspection strategies and best reporting practices; and supporting environmental due diligence aspects of real estate transactions and mergers and acquisitions, including helping to structure transactions and negotiating and drafting contractual terms to mitigate environmental risk. Must have JD degree with an active license to practice law in California. Should have 7-10 years of relevant experience to join firm's Real Estate Law organization. Should have knowledge of global environmental, health and safety regulations applicable to various real estate facilities. Excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills are needed. Should have the ability to focus and cut through complexity to distill the most important issues. Should be able to make and own hard calls. Should have comfort with ambiguity.
