Job Overview:
A prestigious national labor and employment law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Attorney with over 7 years of practice to join its team as Special Counsel. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, while still maintaining a dynamic full-cycle litigation practice. The role will focus primarily on administrative charges, attorney demand letters, and employment litigation, including single-plaintiff cases and potential involvement in larger cases like class actions. The position provides the opportunity to collaborate with a team of legal professionals and benefit from the support of a strong paralegal and secretarial team, all within a virtual office setup.

Duties:

  • Handle administrative charges, attorney demand letters, and employment-related litigation.
  • Develop case strategies and supervise the drafting and review of legal documents.
  • Conduct depositions and represent clients at hearings, conferences, and trials.
  • Manage single-plaintiff litigation with potential exposure to class actions and PAGA cases.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners, contributing to case preparation and legal strategies.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior attorneys and paralegals in the firm’s virtual office.
  • Participate in the firm’s broad spectrum of labor and employment law matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in employment law and litigation.
  • Proven ability to handle employment law matters independently in a remote work environment.
  • Active bar membership in good standing (state bar in any jurisdiction).
  • Experience with Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) matters is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a law firm setting is a plus, with exposure to complex employment litigation.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and legal writing skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in a . State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong expertise in employment law and litigation.
  • Ability to manage complex legal cases with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent legal drafting and communication abilities.
  • High level of proficiency in remote legal work and virtual office tools.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills for supervising junior attorneys and staff.
