Part-time Legal Assistant Candidate will work matrimonial and family law practice to provide clients with legal knowledge, experience and the resources needed to handle complex divorce, custody and support issues. Will counsels clients in other aspects of marriage, such as drafting and negotiating prenups, postnups and separation agreements. Ensure smooth running of the office and effective case management. In order to provide administrative support and enhance office effectiveness, will be responsible for filing, answering and directing phone calls, maintaining contact lists, monitor due dates and maintain the firm’s calendar. Responsible for the firm’s social media accounts, help organize monthly newsletters, blog content, and act as liaison to the various parent groups. Provide a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of an attorney. Handling communication with clients and other professionals, prepare legal documents such as pleadings, stipulations, agreements, demands, etc., conduct legal research, file documents in court, locate and develop case relevant information, help clients prepare financial statements, and administratively assist in trial preparation.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree. Computer literacy. Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure. Secretarial and organizational skills. Satisfactory knowledge of day to day operations of a legal office. Familiarity with law, legal procedures and the court system. An enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn about family law. A team player who values hard work and contributes to the development of the firm.
