Legal Secretary The candidate will perform criminal background checks and driver's records checks through the T.I.M.E. system. Invoice and submit bills for payment; record transactions correctly coded for budgetary purposes. Enter into the Protect Case Management System referrals received from Law Enforcement, Department of Human Services, Department of Drug Enforcement, and Department of Workforce and Development, and prepare and compose necessary documents. Prepare the Annual Budget. Prepare Detainers, Governor's Warrants for Extraditions and Writs. Answer phones and direct calls accordingly. Have direct contact with all law enforcement agencies, Department of Human Services, Clerk of Courts, Judges, in addition to other county agencies within the State of Wisconsin and the United States. Maintain employees' records for overtime, vacation time, sick time, and compensatory time. Back-up for Victim Witness for all duties that job entails. Set up court hearings for various proceedings and sending notice for the same. Follow strict time limits established by Juvenile Statutes and Criminal Statutes. Should have Four your degree in a field relating to or in legal secretarial science plus two years experience preferred -OR- Associate degree in a field relating to or in legal secretarial science plus 4 years of Legal Secretary work experience and must include significant work in criminal, juvenile matters and managing an office. Should have experience in accounting and budget management. Must have experience working with the general public, including professionals, defendants, juveniles, and victims of crime. Experience in compiling a variety of legal documents and general correspondence is essential. Closing Date: 03/25/18.
