Job Overview:

A law firm in Saint Louis, MO, seeks an experienced and highly motivated Workers’ Compensation Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will manage and represent clients in workers' compensation cases, from depositions to trials. This role requires a thorough understanding of workers' compensation law, excellent advocacy skills, and the ability to handle a high caseload effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Take depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, experts, and other parties.
  • Conduct written discovery and perform comprehensive legal research.
  • Draft pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct trials, hearings, and conferences with judges throughout the state.
  • Maintain current knowledge of legal developments in case law and statutory changes to advise clients effectively.
  • Participate in marketing events such as conferences with prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and paralegals in all aspects of litigation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Missouri.
  • Preference is given to attorneys with prior experience in Workers’ Compensation law.
  • Preference is given to attorneys who bring their base of clients.
  • Ability to handle large caseloads and juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Missouri.

  • Drive for innovation and analytical reasoning aptitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and organizational skills.
