Vice President, Product Compliance The candidate will lead a team of attorneys and paralegals in the Product Compliance department. Will advise on all legal matters relating to firm’s administration of FMLA, state and municipal leave laws and short and long-term disability plans on behalf of firm’s clients; monitor and analyze new laws, agency guidance and caselaw affecting firm’s services. Participate in new client presentations and generally represent firm’s Product Compliance expertise to the external market through participation in industry conferences and webinars and writing whitepapers and articles. Act as In-house employment counsel for Reed Group; provide guidance and counsel to Reed Group’s Human Resources department for internal employment matters; handle employment claims and litigation. Other duties as determined by the needs of the business.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Law degree from accredited law school. Must be licensed to practice in the State of Colorado. Should have 7-10 years of experience. Legal knowledge of ERISA, FMLA, ADA and other leave laws is required. Familiarity with Canadian disability and employment law is a plus. Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skill is essential. Must have excellent skills and experience in the following areas: Westlaw and Internet research; Legislation, case law and statutory analysis and Writing, editing, and proofing.
