Family Law Paralegal The candidate will perform advanced, substantive legal work with limited supervision. Will help in drafting correspondence. Recording, analyzing and organizing discovery data received and client data received. Preparing first drafts of discovery requests and responses. Analysis of discovery responses. Preparing pleading (petitions, motions, affidavits, memorandum, data sheets, financial disclosures, etc.) first drafts. Assisting in preparing the preparation of motions, settlement conferences, trial and mediation. E-Filing and filing pleadings, motions and other documents with court throughout the 7-county metro area. Monitoring calendar and discovery, motion, trial and ADR deadlines.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have minimum of three(3) years family law paralegal experience. Knowledge of Metro Area Family Courts, particularly Dakota and Scott Counties. E-filing experience. Detail-oriented and organized. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent client relationship skills. Effective time management skills, including complete and accurate billing practices. Strong work ethic, self motivated. Professionalism. Ability to initiate work and take direction. Ability to learn new software quickly. Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe. Must have qualified references that can be called to verify prior work.
