General Counsel
Responsibilities: Distill complex legal issues and metrics into actionable information for not only senior business and technology leadership but also the company as a whole. Deliver legal expertise for varied corporate issues, which includes governance, compliance, equity events (M&A; SEC; financing), IP, employment law and litigation. Oversee and coordinate outside counsel, which includes managing the services and expenses. Apply strong problem solving, drafting and negotiating skills to varied legal issues and business engagements. Lead compliance programs as relates to Exabeam products and services, which includes SOC 2, HITRUST and GDPR. Lead programs that conduct company training on legal topics applicable to varied departments (e.g. FCPA). Assure that employee plans and policies comply with domestic and international legal requirements. Guide IP activities specifically related to use of open source and management of an intellectual property portfolio.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: JD Degree from a top tier accredited law school and admission to the California Bar in good standing, or eligible to register as in-house counsel with the California Bar. 10+ years of experience with premier law firms and private corporations. 3+ years of experience as the primary general counsel with a publicly traded company in the technology industry. Previous experience taking a fast-growth technology company through a public offering is strongly desired. A disposition to act as both a manager and individual contributor without ego in a team-oriented, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment. A high EQ that includes proven talent for building and maintaining 1) a successful team of professionals providing oversight for a broad set of legal obligations, 2) collaborative relationships with department heads with delivery of timely counsel to varied levels of legal knowledge.
