ProfileMid-level Civil Litigation Attorney The candidate will be managing client cases (running with the ball); making primary decisions and driving cases through the litigation process; preparing the case for trial and trying the case in front of a judge or jury; communicating effectively with other team members on strategy development for cases; being confident in making decisions and in providing sound legal advice to clients; preparing for and taking depositions; arguing hearings on motions; defending depositions; assisting in trials and trying cases as lead attorney; negotiating with opposing counsel or opposing parties; researching Florida substantive and civil procedural law; handling appeals, appellate briefs, and oral argument; preparing written discovery requests; drafting deposition notices; responding to discovery requests; drafting civil court pleadings, motions, subpoenas, demand letters and various notices and court documents; and handling pre-trial compliance on court cases. Should have 3-5 years of practice experience. Must have experience in civil litigation. Should have juris doctor and admitted to practice law in florida state courts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Law school moot court, negotiation team, or law review a plus. Must be proficient with microsoft word.
