A law firm is seeking a Senior Tax Associate Attorney or Counsel for their Philadelphia, PA office. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in tax law, with a strong background in federal income tax, particularly in the taxation of partnerships and drafting and negotiating partnership operating agreements. Candidates should possess strong academic credentials and experience at a law firm or a Big 4 accounting firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal counsel on federal income tax issues, with a focus on the taxation of partnerships.
  • Draft and negotiate partnership operating agreements and other related documents.
  • Advise clients on complex tax matters, including structuring transactions to optimize tax outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support client advisories and tax strategies.
  • Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to address tax-related issues and ensure compliance.
  • Represent clients in tax audits, disputes, and other regulatory proceedings.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations to provide up-to-date legal guidance.
  • Manage and oversee complex tax projects and transactions within the firm’s expanding Tax Practice Group.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • 6+ years of experience in tax law, with a strong focus on federal income tax and taxation of partnerships.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating partnership operating agreements.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Experience at a law firm or a Big 4 accounting firm is required.
  • Admission to the Bar in Pennsylvania or eligibility to become admitted.
