Deputy General Counsel The candidate will provide legal oversight and guidance to all levels of the organization. Will advise senior leadership on legal issues of importance to the health network's operations, and supervise the representation of the health network in all legal proceedings. Provides legal counsel and guidance to officers and management on legal matters relevant to the health network, including overseeing the work of outside legal counsel retained on behalf of Renown Health. responsible, in conjunction with the Corporate Compliance Office for advising senior leadership on the compliance of the health network with a broad range of complex laws and regulations, including to Medicare, Medicaid, state and federal fraud and abuse and prohibited self-referral law, antitrust, tax-exemption and related issues, conflicts of interest, corporate compliance oversight and operations, medical and financial information privacy, EMTALA, insurance regulatory issues, licensing and certification, and medical staff issues. Supervise outside counsel and participate in the negotiation of any settlements. Will manage a budget for legal services for the organization. Will draft, review, and/or approve policies related to governance, regulatory compliance, and business operations of the health network. Will anticipate and identify legal issues of concern to senior leadership and develop legal strategies and solutions, often in situations of great financial, political, or public relations risk, and with limited time to assess the alternatives. Will draft and review, or supervise the drafting and review of all contracts and related documents for participation in joint ventures, provision of health care and related services, procurement of goods and services, affiliations with other institutions, transfer of patients between institutions, confidentiality of proprietary information, employment, leases of space and equipment, software licenses, and electronic transmission of healthcare data. Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Should have J.D. degree from an accredited college or university. Must have 10+ years of broad based legal experience. Should be member of the Nevada Bar. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
