Part-time Legal Assistant/Paralegal The candidate primary function is to provide legal support to one of attorneys by utilizing commonly used practices and procedures. Duties: Greet and welcome clients as they arrive at the office; Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls; Manage and maintain attorney schedule; Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries; Keep updated records of office expenses and costs; Prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters and other documents, using word processing, spreadsheet, and database software; Prepare responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries; Transcribe dictation; Perform other clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, faxing and scanning; Identify problems and offer solutions on files; Communicate accurately and concisely with our clients and other parties to ensure positive relationships are developed; Employees will also perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution. Must have 1 year of administrative experience. Must be proficient working with Microsoft Word and Excel. Must have knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly civil litigation procedures, real estate transactions and/ or estate planning and probate procedures. Should have ability to perform research and support document management.
