ProfileDeputy General Counsel The Deputy General Counsel - Litigation is responsible for providing advice and legal counsel to the company on a broad range of matters. Will report to the General Counsel/Security and assist with all in-house litigation matters and with the preparation of all litigation and risk reports. Will also manage and supervise a team of paralegal as well as a staff of litigation attorneys. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for providing advice and legal counsel to the company on a broad range of matters. Manage Lennar corporation’s in-house litigation attorneys and outside attorneys in all aspects of litigation facing the enterprise, including construction defect, personal injury, environmental, employment, land use, and contract (business) disputes. Assist the General Counsel in the preparation of litigation and risk reports to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, outside auditors, and internal business clients. Assists the General Counsel with an array of departmental administrative matters, budgetary and compliance activities, internal investigations, and other legal matters as they arise. Responsible for establishing and assuring compliance with case management strategies to further the business goals of the company. Supervises a staff of litigation attorneys and paralegals.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Juris Doctorate degree and admitted to a state bar association. Should have 15 years of relevant, legal experience which must include no less than 5 years of experience in-house litigation at a publicly traded corporation. Ability to travel at least once per month and over long distances, whether on aircraft or by other means.
