Head of Management Liability - Leading and developing a team of claims professionals for AXIS Insurance North America, handling a variety of Management Liability claims including D&O, E&O, and transactional liability, and collaborating with internal and external partners to provide industry-leading claims strategy and offerings. H1: Join AXIS Capital and become the Head of Management Liability for our North America Claims team. H2: Lead and Develop a Team of Claims Professionals for AXIS Insurance North America • Responsible for managing a wide variety of Management Liability Claims including Public and Private Company Directors and Officers (D&O), Private Equity Errors and Omissions (E&O)/D&O, Investment Advisors, ICPL and Transactional Liability & Contingent Risk. • Work closely with colleagues across AXIS Insurance including North American Claims and International Claims as well as the Commercial Management Solutions (CMS) and Financial Institutions (FI) Business Units. • Provide technical advice, training and guidance to direct reports and TPA/Contractor adjusters. • Recruit, hire and retain top talent and develop appropriate succession plans. • Review management liability claims to determine nature of loss, coverage provided, and scope of claim and guide strategic direction for settlement/disposition. • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners as the lead contact for assigned claims. • Collaborate with the Specialty Complex Claims team on coverage disputes and litigation matters. • Formulate claims and litigation strategies and manage outside counsel. • Manage costs and collaborate with Litigation Management and Vendor Management teams to ensure cost management and development of counsel panel. • Foster relationships and communicate extensively with senior executives, brokers, reinsurers, actuaries, underwriters, insureds, and auditors. • Support underwriting inquiries and information requests and maintain documentation of key line of business statistics and metrics. • Lead and participate in presentations and discussions with underwriters and insureds on large losses and claim trends. • Identify liability and coverage trends and issues and formulate processes and strategies for handling claims. • Actively coach and mentor direct reports and provide regular feedback. • required, admitted to practice a plus. • 10+ years of Management Liability claims management experience with demonstrated leadership and organizational skills. • In-depth knowledge of claims, litigation, arbitration, and trial processes. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Technical knowledge, skills, and training within the field including complex coverage analysis and experience. • Valid adjuster licenses by state as required. • Travel may be required for team management, court proceedings, mediations, and settlement. • Salary range of $162,500 - $216,500 based on experience and location. • Equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
