Attorney - Transactional (General) The candidate will be team-oriented and have substantial knowledge regarding Texas procurement laws and best practices in procurement, as well as experience in all aspects of governmental procurement, preferably at the municipal level, including: experience advising clients regarding procurement laws and policies applicable to requests for qualifications, requests for proposals, bids, cooperative purchasing, information technology, and alternative delivery of construction. Responsibilities include Drafting and negotiating moderately complex contracts. Counseling clients on procurement rules applicable to state and federally funded projects. Drafting and training clients on relevant company policies, procedures, and Code provisions. Assisting the Attorney and others with special projects, such as drafting Attorney legal opinions. Working with litigation teams on disputes involving transactions relating to company of Houston contracts.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate requires a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from an American Bar Association accredited college of law. Must have 2 years of experience in the practice of general civil law or specialized municipal law are required. should preferable have 4 years' experience in a transactional practice focusing on procurement or contract negotiation matters, preferably in a governmental setting in the State of Texas. Should preferable have Exceptional contract negotiation and drafting skills. Excellent analytical and organizational skills are required. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Should have above-average academic performance. Should preferable have Experience working with federal, state and local agencies. Proficiency with Office 365 and the use of technology in the practice of law is required. Must have Information technology-related experience such as technology contracts, intellectual property and technology licensing (in and out licensing) and procurement, patents, copyrights, trademarks, data and cyber security, and data breach and notification policy and procedures.
