Duties:

  • Represent claimants in workers' compensation cases, including hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Take depositions of claimants, physicians, medical experts, and other relevant parties.
  • Conduct legal research and stay current on developments in workers' compensation law.
  • Draft appeals, rebuttals, summations, and legal memoranda.
  • Negotiate settlements and ensure injured workers receive appropriate medical care and benefits.
  • Provide legal guidance to clients throughout the workers' compensation process.
  • Collaborate with support staff to ensure cases progress efficiently and effectively.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar; recent graduates awaiting admission will also be considered.
  • Strong negotiation, litigation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.
  • Compassionate, client-focused approach with an emphasis on helping others.
  • A passion for maintaining a balanced and fulfilling career.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • New York State Bar Admission (or pending).

Skills:
