ProfilePine Brook office of our client seeks junior life sciences/pharmacy attorney with 1-2 years of experience in practicing law, with a focus on Healthcare related matters. The candidate will be responsible for handling an array of health insurance and managed care related issues on behalf of pharmacy clients, including defending pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) and insurance audits, investigations and network terminations. Will be handling an interesting and diverse docket of pharmacy regulatory issues. Assessing operational structure and processes of pharmacies, and drafting policies and standard operating procedures, including assisting in the formation of effective compliance programs. Analyzing and structuring arrangements among Life Sciences stakeholders, including contracts between pharmacies and pharmaceutical manufacturers, contracts involving hubs, payor contracts. Drafting policies and procedures regarding marketing activities related to pharmacies and drug products. Reviewing payor, sale, software licensing, and central fill and shared services agreements. Assisting pharmacies in obtaining state licensure and assisting in the representation of clients before the state licensing boards. Communicating with clients. Should be licensed to practice law in New Jersey in good standing (or licensed in another state with ability/willingness to become admitted in New Jersey); additional admissions in other states a plus. Pharmacist, pharmacy technician, doctor, or other type of clinical background or healthcare industry experience is a plus. Familiarity with healthcare laws and regulations will be required.
