IP Counsel
The candidate will help to shape and contribute to building our IP portfolio focusing on innovations in the oral healthcare field and other related technologies including information technology (software, cloud services, databases, mobile apps, and control solutions). Will provide optimal protection to the business, and contribute value to firm Oral Healthcare business by capturing value from that portfolio. Manage third-party IP risks, and when needed, seek to get access to third-party IP at the lowest cost possible for firm’ products and services. Handle IP matters in a wide range of collaborations with third parties. Facilitate a meaningful career development, our IP professionals rotate between and among internal clients to leverage their respective accumulated experiences in other businesses. Work with a multi-disciplinary team serving this organization that consists of IP counsels and IP analysts.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have 5+ years of meaningful, documentable experience in IP portfolio management (e.g. training and guiding inventors to create valuable inventions, drafting and prosecuting patent, design and trademark applications, filing oppositions) IP counseling, defending IP assertions and contributing to IP litigations. A Bachelor’s degree and technical background in electrical engineering, computer science, or physics – A master’s degree or higher is a plus. Experience in multi-jurisdictional patent portfolio management; invalidity and freedom to operate opinion work is essential. Must have strong experience in dealing with soft IP such as designs and trademarks. Excellent Analytical and Intellectual capabilities is essential. Must have excellent relationship building, influencing and negotiating abilities and excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to operate at all levels both internally and externally
