Trusts and Estates Associate The candidate will work on sophisticated estate and business succession planning matters, provide legal advice on trust and estate administrations, and participate in Orphans' Court litigation. Will draft and implement estate planning and business succession documentation (e.g., wills, powers of attorney, health care directives, various types of sophisticated trust instruments, family limited partnerships, etc.), and drafting pleadings and other documents related to Orphans' Court litigation (e.g., petitions for adjudication, claims by and against estates, objections to accounts, petitions for removal, etc.). Draft and review documents related to trust and estate administration (e.g., petitions for probate, inventories, various tax returns, fiduciary accountings, non-judicial settlement agreements, receipt and release agreements, etc.). Regularly communicate with high net-worth clients, beneficiaries, financial and insurance professionals, and other parties.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an accredited law school. An LL.M. in Taxation is beneficial. Should preferably have 2-6 years of experience practicing as a trusts and estates attorney. Entry-level candidates (recent J.D. or LL.M. in Taxation graduates) with demonstrated interest in trusts and estates practice and exceptional academic records will be considered. Must be admitted to practice law (and in good standing) in Pennsylvania (both PA and NJ preferred). Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills are needed.
