Deputy Director
The candidate will update and maintain all reports for the unit, including the Mayor’s Management Report, Key Performance Indicators, outstanding client issues, construction quarterly reports, and commitment plan reports. Other key responsibilities include preparing draft responses for the Commissioner’s C-track correspondence and follow-up on the issues; assisting the Borough Director with the preparation of documents requested by the Commissioner’s Office, such as fact sheets, project information summaries, maps, and sketches for Borough President consultations. Attending Community Board and Town Hall meetings and representing the Borough Director in their absence when needed. Will generate also data sheets and scoping sketches for budget consultations. Should have a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration, or public administration, and 5 years of full-time satisfactory experience in the planning, administering or expediting of engineering design, and/or construction, or coordinating a very large engineering project, 2 years of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory capacity; OR a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and 9 years of experience as described above; 2 years of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory capacity; OR education and/or experience equivalent above. An accredited Master's degree in one of the disciplines described above, a law degree, or a valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect or Landscape Architect may be substituted for 1 year of the required experience. However, all candidates must have 2 years of the administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience as described above. Must possess knowledge of the operations, design, and construction of the City’s infrastructure system.
