Legal - Paralegal III, Consumer and Community Banking, Regulatory Law Team The candidate will provide paralegal support including research, drafting, and crafting presentations for the Regulatory Law Team. Will monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting consumers including those related to credit reporting and activities deemed to be unfair and deceptive business practices. Summarize those developments and make recommendations to attorneys on relevance and potential impact to the Bank. Participate in meetings sharing these developments with stakeholders. Maintain reports of monitored developments. Research, as needed, on special projects. Correspond and collaborate with paralegals, attorneys, and other professionals from other areas of the bank on legal issues impacting multiple lines of business. Support monitoring of consumer litigation against the Bank. Undertake additional responsibilities in support of Regulatory Law Team as needed.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have 5 years of paralegal experience with a financial services company or law firm. Must have ability to prioritize work and maintain communication with attorneys regarding project status and estimated completion timelines. Must have strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with attorneys, and other business and compliance professionals. Must have excellent organizational skills. Must have excellent legal research skills and experience with Lexis and/or Westlaw. Must be competence with the suite of Microsoft Office products especially Excel. Strong verbal and written communication skills is required. Prior experience in financial services regulation and/or financial services litigation is required. Knowledge of state legislative and regulatory process preferred. Must have Paralegal certification or bachelorâ€™s degree.
