Charities Bureau - Assistant Attorney General Duties The candidate will be representing the interests of charitable beneficiaries in Surrogateâ€™s Court and Supreme; Court proceedings involving trusts and estates with charitable interests; representing the interests of the State in proceedings involving estates administered by the Public Administrator and other estates with unknown beneficiaries, including kinship hearings and withdrawal proceedings in Surrogateâ€™s Court and Supreme Court; reviewing fiduciary accountings; and, assisting with legislative and public education initiatives.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification: The candidate should have 2-3 years of experience in trusts and estates law and litigation, preferably including contested Surrogateâ€™s Court proceedings. The ideal candidate will combine excellent advocacy, negotiation and writing skills with a strong interest in public service.
