Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to join their team. This role requires in-depth knowledge of sophisticated trust and estate planning matters, as well as a strong ability to navigate complex legal structures and provide expert advice. The ideal candidate will have experience in estate and gift tax planning, trust administration, and a commitment to excellence in client service.
Duties:
- Analyze complex estate planning and trust matters, offering tailored solutions to clients
- Draft advanced estate and gift tax planning structures, including various trust types like ILITs, SLATS, and charitable lead annuity trusts
- Coordinate the preparation and filing of tax forms (Federal Form 706, Form 709), ensuring compliance and precision
- Guide trust and estate planning documents, trustee responsibilities, and beneficiary rights
- Administer family and individual trusts, manage investments, and real estate holdings, and ensure tax compliance
- Prepare fiduciary accountings, including financial statements and income distributions, and deliver them to beneficiaries
- Review and finalize estate plans before submission to clients
- Collaborate with external professionals (CPAs, financial advisors) to ensure the completion of tax-related documentation
- Advise clients on tax implications and estate planning strategies to ensure optimal asset protection
Requirements:
- Membership with The Florida Bar
- Proven experience in estate planning, asset protection, and trust administration
- Ability to understand and implement new legal concepts quickly
- Experience with drafting software like WealthDocs and client management tools such as Clio
- Fluency in both English and Spanish
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
- Active membership with The Florida Bar
Skills:
- Expertise in trust and estate planning
- Proficiency in drafting legal documents related to estate and gift taxes
- Strong understanding of federal tax laws and compliance for trusts and estates
- Ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
