Part-time Bilingual Spanish Administrative / Legal Assistant The candidate will perform both clerical and administrative duties. There will also be client interaction. Will assist attorneys and paralegals in working with clients to file immigration petitions and supporting documentation. Will also correspond with clients and US government agencies. Handle incoming calls and faxes. Calendar appointments and deadlines. Greet clients and visitors. Pick up and distribute mail (electronically). Create files for new cases and maintain files (case specific and office files). This includes maintaining a hard copy and electronic filing system as well as client lists. Assemble and mail documents to government agencies and/or clients under the supervision of the paralegals and/or attorneys. Research and order office supplies by checking stock to determine inventory and anticipate needed supplies. Be the point person for operation of office equipment. Maintain a case/duties status report for weekly meetings with attorneys. May assist paralegals with overflow work, including inputting data into immigration forms programs and other clerical duties. As experience grows, will be assigned own cases and will assist clients with preparation of forms and supporting documents for final review by attorneys. High school diploma is required. Associate's degree or Paralegal certificate is preferred. An interest in becoming immigration paralegal is preferred. Must have experience with Word (templates helpful), Adobe, and Excel, and an able to learn new software. Application Deadline: August 13, 2018.
