Senior Legal Advisor The candidate will chair the Legal Advisory Committee and oversee its activities which include: Developing the overall advocacy strategy that is impact-driven and consistent with companyâ€™s mission and comparative advantage, and is integrated throughout all of companyâ€™s work. Identifying key company issues suited to large-scale campaigns; with partners, design innovative campaign strategies in order to further local, national, and international policy goals and shape narratives and practices, both to prevent violations and advance gender rights. Identifying and cultivate key relationships with policy officials, human rights coalitions, and other relevant medical and scientific organizations/associations and individuals to promote and further companyâ€™s mission. Maintains a firm theoretical understanding of gender issues its intersectionalities. Expertise on human rights and international law systems including national, regional, UN and other international systems. Proven track record in building and sustaining constituencies, partnerships, and alliances to affect change and provide financial resources. Keen political instincts and the ability to identify emerging gender rights issues particularly those ripe for mobilizing partners and professional organizations.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Advanced degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have 10 yearsâ€™ policy, advocacy, and/or campaign experience, with demonstrated ability to develop and manage effective global advocacy strategies, including through mobilizing constituencies. Must be able to conduct sophisticated analysis within a human rights framework. Should able to build new long-term strategic programing, through practical, measurable steps with projected impacts and outcomes. Must be able to translate complex, technical issues into accessible language for wider audiences. Should be able to publically speak, address and provide trainings on gender issues including panel events, presentations, key notes, workshops and testimonies..
