Case Assistant Duties: Under general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, provides legal/general support to the firm’s attorneys and their clients. Maintain positive contact with attorneys (both the firm’s and outside counsel), support staff, clients and vendors. Observes confidentiality of client and firm matters. Provide general support to the Global Corporate practice group. Obtain legal materials/documents as needed or directed by attorneys; Organize and assist with closings, draft and review signature pages and closing checklists and prepare closing binders both in electronic and paper format; Draft form documents/correspondence for deal participants; Utilize and maintain form files; Organize closing sets and deal documents; Assist with the creation of legal entities, including preparation of formation documents, ordering searches and overseeing all filing requirements and ongoing reporting obligations; Prepare Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings and order lien searches; Process vendor invoices for payment in a timely manner; Compile research, maintain/update working group lists and organize due diligence documents; Review and proofread legal documents; Observe confidentiality of client and firm matters; and Other responsibilities as may be assigned from time-to-time.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Undergraduate degree; a paralegal certificate, a plus. 1-2 years of office experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work with individuals at all organizational levels. Ability to organize and prioritize issues and workload. The ability to work on projects independently or with little supervision. Flexibility and ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities. Exercising independent judgment and initiative. Must be a highly motivated individual with the ability to adapt to constantly changing and competing priorities. Must be comfortable interacting with employees at all levels under pressure while remaining enthusiastic, flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient with a high-level of professionalism. Should be attentive to details and have the ability to complete simultaneous projects independently. Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed, which may include evening and weekend work.
