CTO Contract Officer The candidate edits, negotiates, and manages the execution of clinical trials contracts. The CO also provides professional consultation, advice, and direction to all levels of University staff and corporate sponsors regarding contracting issues such that OHSU clinical trial contracts will best meet legal sufficiency, risk management and financial requirements for the University research objectives. One of the main roles of this position is to continually seek opportunities to improve contracting processes as well as improve customer service. Should have Bachelor’s Degree, with position-related coursework.3 +years experience in contract negotiation or related clinical trial experience. Demonstrated excellent analytical skills with the ability to understand and synthesize complex guidelines and regulatory requirements. Excellent communication skills as demonstrated by the ability to interpret, convey, explain, and uphold regulatory requirements to administrative and investigator clients in the OHSU research community. Thorough understanding of budgeting principles and procedures. Advanced computer skills, including facility with the Internet, spreadsheets, word-processing, database entry and reports, and email. Major in science or health field. Juris Doctor or Paralegal Degree is preferred. 3+ years experience in industry sponsored clinical trial contracts management and negotiation. Knowledge of and experience with OHSU policies and procedures preferred.
