Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to assist in the defense of civil litigation claims. This position offers an excellent opportunity for attorneys with 1+ years of experience, as well as those with a portable book of business seeking growth within a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will assist with a variety of tasks, including legal research, preparing pleadings, attending court hearings, depositions, and client meetings.

Location:

Duties:

  • Assist in the defense of civil litigation claims.
  • Perform legal research and prepare pleadings.
  • Gather evidence and assist in case preparation.
  • Attend depositions and court hearings.
  • Conduct conference calls and hold client meetings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients on litigation strategy.
  • Manage and track case progress and deadlines.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience in civil litigation defense.
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to attend depositions and court hearings as needed.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, witnesses, and colleagues.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Michigan State Bar License (Required).

Skills:

  • Legal research and writing.
  • Experience in civil litigation defense.
  • Strong organizational skills.
