Paralegal- Real Estate The candidate will manage complex, multi-million dollar transactions as a contributing member of a highly performing team of attorneys and paralegals. Organize and assemble large quantities of documents for closings of tax-exempt bond, HUD, VHDA, SBA and large conventional commercial financings. Draft, analyze and review real estate documents, including deeds, deeds of trust, settlement statements, UCC’s, title commitments, title exceptions, surveys, zoning letters and reports, environmental reports, lien releases, memoranda of leases, ancillary lease documents and client correspondence. Coordinate closings with lenders, borrowers, clients, appraisers, surveyors, insurance companies, zoning authorities, local governments, title abstract and title insurance companies, taxing authorities, attorneys, court personnel, and others, in connection with obtaining all necessary information for commercial real estate transactions. File zoning and other land use applications and documents with local governments. Maintain and organize electronic and hard copies of transaction and due diligence documents. Bachelor’s Degree and/or related paralegal certificate required. Must have 5+ years of experience in managing complex commercial real estate matters from contract to closing and working in law firm environment. Experience with HUD-insured loan transactions preferred. Should have excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of Interwoven/FileSite or comparable document sharing programs is essential. Should have knowledge of Elite Webview or comparable time keeping program.
