Paralegal Personal Planning Group Duties: Handling Illinois trust and estate administrations from start to finish with attorney supervision, including: Assisting in the analysis, calculation or preparation of asset and gift summaries using Excel and zCalc and/or NumberCruncher software; Preparing gift and estate tax returns; Preparing documents related to the transfer of assets, including deeds, notices of withdrawal rights and assignments; Drafting court documents and related probate documents based on knowledge of Illinois probate proceedings Attending meetings or participating in conference calls with clients; and Communicating with CPAs, advisors, and appraisers; Handling probates and trust administration from start to finish with attorney supervision; Forming closely-held entities, drafting entity agreements, and assisting with state filings and other ongoing maintenance of entities.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 3+ years' recent experience in probate and trust administration in a medium or large law firm or equivalent; and recent experience with tax preparation software. A client focused approach to work, be able to handle multiple assignments efficiently, work well under pressure, and have the flexibility to assist teams in meeting client demands on accelerated schedules. Must have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and operate with strong initiative to meet billable requirements.
