Contracts Paralegal The candidate will provide overall administrative and technical direction for Contracts review and compliance. Serve as subject-matter expert on contracts in area of authority. Assist the Director, Contracts and Legal Counsel in the performance of his duties. Review incoming contracts for completeness and compliance with firm policies; prepare for signature as required by firm policies. Work with Finance team and CFO to process bond and other payment guarantee documents. Interface with and assist other company contracts managers to process contractual documentation as required. Assist the Director of Contracts in the review of contracts and drafting of contract clauses to protect firm. Assist the Director of Contracts and Legal Counsel as directed. Serve as point-of-contact for contracts and contractual advice to firm team members. Maintain contractual records and documentation. Draft letters and prepare correspondence in accordance in standard business form. Handle ongoing issues with deliberation and a sense of urgency. Monitor transaction compliance and timeliness. Ensure "completed staff work" when performing duties.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have Baccalaureate business or engineering, or equivalent combinations of training and related experience, including at least 15 hours in business law; finance; accounting and business communications. Should have Paralegal certification. Must have 5 years of paralegal experience or business experience working in a business support role in construction or related industry. Familiarity with a broad spectrum of contracts and their use and purpose (MSAs; NDA; POs; subcontracts; change orders; amendments; teaming agreements; service-level agreements, etc.) is needed. English proficient in business writing and oral communication is must. Understand financial terms and basic financial instruments (bonds; guarantees; payment security) is essential. Familiarity with construction (technology, equipment, methods); Company policies, procedures and standards; and union jurisdiction, labor agreements, negotiations is required. Excellent organizational and planning skills is essential. Computer/Office Machines Microsoft Work, Excel, Outlook is must.
