Staff Attorney The candidate will provide technical assistance and conduct trainings on issues relating to relief from removal for persons in immigration proceedings. The trainings and technical assistance will be targeted to nonprofit agency staff and pro bono attorneys who are representing low income immigrants, including those in detention. Applicants should have prior experience in removal defense and be familiar with court proceedings, bond hearings, asylum, cancellation of removal, and waivers. The attorney will work with other staff in company’s Defending Vulnerable Populations project and will report to Project Manager Michelle Mendez. Should have Law degree (J.D.) Admission to practice law in any state and/or the District of Columbia is needed. Must have 4+ years immigration law practice experience with specialty in removal defense. Prior experience in public speaking is required. This is a two-year position.
