Paralegal, Legal Operations
Duties: Assist counsel in the review, monitoring and finalization of leases which includes generating comments for purposes of advising Landlords of requested changes to the leases, handling of basic/low level lease negotiations as well as generating outstanding comments to be utilized by the Real Estate Department. Reviews, revises, negotiates and assures execution of contracts, with supervision and involvement when necessary, to ensure all contracts are handled in a timely manner and are continually moving through the review process. Accurately interprets correspondence and legal documents (including leases, contracts, policies) in order to respond to in house and outside inquiries. Troubleshoot legal inquiries through research, outreach to internal business partners and creative problem solving. Monitors and analyzes all litigation and/or EEOC matters from inception until finalized; conducts key interviews, evaluates the merits of claims and prepares position statements; works with (outside) counsel to prepare discovery responses; maintains unique access to company systems containing confidential information and conducts appropriate searches and evaluation of potential discoverable information and evidence relevant to litigation and pre-litigation disputes; and coordinates motions, briefs and other filings with outside counsel. Assist in the review, monitoring and finalization of estoppels, Subordination, Non-Disturbance, and Attornment Agreements, unsolicited vendor letters, collection matters, subpoenas, marketing, contests, sweepstakes and consumer complaints, as assigned. Independently develops tools, metrics and tracking methods to analyze litigation data. Formulates, prepares and distributes legal reports relating to legal documents such as: contracts, leasing, estoppels, SNDA requests, insurance claims, subpoenas, collection matters, contest, sweepstakes, violations and unsolicited vendors. Compiles data for reports regarding the status of legal related goals and evaluates our legal efforts. Act as the liaison between Finish Line counsel, third party counsel, employees, and prospective employees on a wide range of legal affairs such as H1B Visa transfers and Green Card pursuit processes. Supports compliance team members with duties related to compliance programs, policies, and processes ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: A four year degree from a college or university and 0 - 2 years’ experience in any business, analytical or administrative function, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, handle a heavy workload, and knowledge of legal documents is preferred. Should have basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and email or Google Suite equivalents. Must be an effective communicator with internal and external individuals at all levels. This includes spoken, written, electronic, and presentation skills. Communication should be consistently constructive and professional. Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to analyze results at a micro and macro level and present findings. Makes routine decisions following established policies and procedures; collaborates with manager to gain assistance when complex issues arise.
