Real Estate Paralegal The candidate will prepare and file documents online with the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation (similar to a Secretary of State): Articles of Organization, Articles of Amendment, Articles of Reinstatement, Personal Property Tax Returns. Prepare base loan documents: loan agreements, notes, deeds of trust. Draft deeds, easements, and other land instruments. Conduct title searches. Conduct due diligence in connection with closings, including zoning and building code due diligence, and review of preliminary title commitment. Prepare estate filings: administrative accounts, list of interested persons, inventory, etc. 2+ years of real estate plus corporate paralegal experience required. Experience in commercial real estate closing preparation – preferred. Minimum of high school graduation required. College degree preferred, paralegal certificate helpful. Ability to work with and take direction from multiple individuals, to communicate well in a remote setting, as well as the ability to work independently required. Good planning, prioritization, and organizational skills required. Excellent administrative/secretarial proofreading skills, including attention to detail. Ability to problem solve and use sound judgment in dealing with highly confidential information required. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required.
