Min 5 yrs required
ERISA Paralegal The candidate should preferably have experience drafting retirement plan documents and amendments for defined contribution, defined benefit, non-qualified, and health and welfare benefit plans; working with the various correction programs under the IRS Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System (EPCRS); preparing and submitting plan filings and requests to the IRS and DOL (e.g., determination letter filings, correction filings); drafting summary plan descriptions (SPDs) and other plan participant communications; interacting with clients and outside counsel; and researching discrete technical Internal Revenue Code and ERISA issues/questions. General knowledge of ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code regarding retirement plans is required. Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal certificate, 5+ years’ experience in the field as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills, are required. Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification and/or extensive knowledge of the Affordable Care Act are a plus. Note: This is temporary to permanent position.
