Legal Assistant The candidate will be responsible for preparing and filing key legal documents required for the Eviction process, and monitoring and maintenance of the ongoing Eviction cases. Will prepare legal documents such as Notices to Vacate, Unlawful Detainers, and Writ of Execution. Retrieve, review and analyze documents provided by the client to ensure their accuracy in order to prepare the legal documents. Documents to be reviewed may include detailed client screen prints, loan documents, or account statements. Research for missing information and documents, and request from client, if needed. Edit and revised documents as instructed by Attorney and Client. Prepare and schedule lockout dates. File and send legal documents with using the appropriate county system. Maintain calendar of pending hearing dates, times and locations. Prepare Attorney for hearings, receive hearing results from Attorney and Court, and communicate results to the client. Obtain and prepare local counsel to attend Unlawful Detainer Hearings. Retrieve, review, and analyze all incoming mail received through the physical mail or through the Courtâ€™s Electronic Case Filing system. Make Attorneys and/or clients aware of any situation(s) that may require attention. Communicate, negotiate settlement, and otherwise work with opposing counsel on matters requiring you to do so. Record all forms of communication from and to the Client by updating the Firmâ€™s internal case-management system, CaseMax. Answer borrower questions and record all forms of communication in CaseMax. Image and label documents necessary for document preparation to the Firmâ€™s image center, PaperWise. Listens and shares by providing regular, consistent, and meaningful information. Listens carefully to others and ensures message is understood. Ensures important matters are shared with all appropriate parties. Communicates in a clear and concise manner. Using appropriate grammar, punctuation, and tone to enhance understanding and demonstrates professionalism through body language, including eye contact and posture. Tailors communication style to needs of recipient. Social and Emotional Learning: The ability to recognize and regulate emotions and behaviors in the workplace, while maintaining the ability to recognize others emotions and perspectives and take them into account. Must have High School Diploma or equivalent. Should have 6+ months of office experience or a college degree. Intermediate knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs required. Must have ability to type a minimum of 35 WPM.
