Word Processor Duties: Responsible for preparing and editing legal documents and correspondence, spreadsheets and presentations, transcribe dictation, and document clean up and formatting. Document production and editing of complex legal documents including briefs, motions, leases and various other documents, adhering to Firm styles and guidelines. Assist with document conversion and clean up. Complete complex document markups and instructions in a timely matter. Substantial editing of transaction leases requiring formatting, styles, headers/footers, and heavy revisions. Scan documents for conversion to Word or PDF format. Create and edit Table of Authorities and Table of Contents. Create and edit graphic presentations. Manage electronic files in Docs Open. Accurate transcription of mostly digital dictation. Other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred. 3-5 years of law firm word processing experience required. Must be able to handle changing priorities to support business needs and demands while working under tight deadlines. Must demonstrate good judgement and ability to maintain confidential information. Must be self-motivated with the ability to follow work instructions accurately and perform job with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Must be very organized, detail orientated, and have a thorough knowledge of formatting. Must have excellent verbal communication skills, customer service skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of firm personnel. Must have excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and proof reading skills. Must be able to type at a minimum speed of 70 wpm. Requires an advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Omni Page, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and Docs Open or similar programs.
