Tax - M&A and Transactions

Senior Tax Attorney Duties: M&A tax planning projects. Prepare responses to IRS and state audit inquiries. Participate in special projects such as mock audits, executive equity compensation planning, R&D credits, and PLR requests. Research, analyze and interpret tax laws and provide written memoranda on various value-added projects and transactions. Develop tax technical skills to arrive at confident, educated conclusions. Aid managers in handling client portfolios and assignments. Interface with client personnel to obtain information and deliver a high-quality project on time and on budget. Clearly communicate work plan and project objectives to project team. Review and occasionally prepare tax returns for corporate and individual clients.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field. 4+ years of income tax experience, with an emphasis in tax planning and M&A required; OR 2+ years of tax related experience with a law degree (JD Degree). Preferred Educational Level: A professional law degree (JD Degree) is highly preferred. A Masters of Taxation is also preferred. Must have experience in preparation of complex tax returns for high net worth individuals, partnerships, and corporations, as well as various tax-based consulting projects. Advanced reading and writing skills. Must have well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles and personal income taxes. Ability to effectively communicate with others, strong written and verbal communication, analytical and decision-making skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office (spreadsheet, database and word processing applications). Ability to plan, organize and prioritize complex tax assignments, interpret laws and regulations and apply advanced tax theory. Ability to review another professional associate’s work. Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
