Assistant General Counsel The candidate: Drafts construction, services and consultant agreements, requests for proposals (“RFPsâ€), permits, and other documents. Prepares drafts of all types of commercial agreements, including construction agreements, design agreements, license agreements, consulting agreements with architects, engineers, construction managers and agreements relating to other transactional matters. Negotiates contracts for goods and services in connection with projects and operations of the Authority and the Conservancy. Prepares memoranda advising Authority and Conservancy staff with regard to legal matters. Reviews compliance of tenants and contractors with lease and contractual requirements; develops, recommends, and implements enforcement options. Coordinates with the Corporate Secretary and the Assistant Corporate Secretaries on corporate governance matters, as needed. Oversees the FOIL process, and works with the FOIL Officer to respond to FOIL requests. Supervises outside consultants and oversees the residential closing process in the firm with aid from the Paralegal. Performs other duties as directed. Should have J.D. degree and 3+ years of experience. Law firm experience preferred. Must be admitted to practice law in New York.
