Paralegal The candidate will perform full range of paralegal tasks from case inception through case closure. Will maintain and monitor court deadlines for assigned cases and take ownership of case calendars. Prepare deposition notices; organize, maintain and prepare deposition materials, exhibits and summaries. Participate in case strategy meetings. Ensure expertise in technology relevant to the position; proactively use most current technology to further teamwork, client service, and efficiency. Electronically file documents with the Court through the ECF system under the supervision of an attorney (Peach Court, Odyssey E-file, Ga. Pacer). Handle routine calls and correspondence to outside attorneys, courthouse personnel, vendors, and clients. Handle large document reviews, both in person and electronically, generate and maintain production logs, and organize discovery. BA/BS required. Paralegal certificate a plus. Should have 5+ years of litigation experience. Must have experience in managing both asbestos and securities litigation cases; case preparation from beginning to end; the ability to perform federal and state court filings; experience with trial preparation and trials; experience with document review software (Concordance, I-Pro, Eclipse); strong communication skills; the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, attorneys, and staff; the ability to self-manage and meet deadlines; and the ability to work overtime when needed. Mid-size to large law firm experience a plus. Must have experience with e-filing within the Federal Courts, specifically with the U.S District Courts (and Georgia state courts). Should have ability to conduct research using various research tools, including the Internet, Westlaw, and Lexis/Lexis Advance. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Nuance PDF).
