Legal Assistant Duties: Preparing pleadings, motions, etc., knowing how to attach exhibits; organizing files; monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines. E-Filing with various courts and knowing all that is necessary for E-Discovery. Contact with people involved in the case; scheduling depositions; preparing and forwarding summonses and subpoenas. Calendaring court hearings for attorneys using Microsoft Outlook. Required to scan/save all incoming and outgoing mail for their attorneys. Responsible for attorney time into TABS from hand written timesheets and electronic dictation. Must be able to answer phones as needed.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Associate degree. 5+ years of experience as a legal assistant/secretary in insurance defense, Organization, Planning, Attention to Detail, Dependability, Client Confidentiality, must be Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and excel, team-player. Technologically savvy.
