Paralegal The candidate will be assisting with all aspects of briefing cases and participating in legal and regulatory proceedings, including hearings, before state and federal administrative agencies and/or federal courts (e.g., CPUC, FERC, D.C. Circuit). Will be researching, including familiarity with legal, regulatory, and administrative data bases, working on legal and factual discovery and cite/fact checking legal submissions. Assistance in processing matters in compliance with state and federal regulations. Assistance in interpreting and applying legal and regulatory requirements to various agreements and drafting documents. Interfacing with personnel in other departments and with external third parties to gather information. Conducting factual and legal investigations, multitasking, and managing moderate to heavy workloads. Maintaining a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices; and performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned. Certificate from an American Bar Association accredited paralegal program is needed. Associate or Bachelor Degree in Paralegal Studies is essential. Should have 5+ years of experience working in a law firm or a corporate legal department in either regulatory, energy, administrative, or related areas of legal practice, or in anti-trust intellectual property, corporate, or similar areas of practice. Experience in preparing drafts of documents, cite and fact checking legal submissions and legal research, including experience in using online research services (e.g., Lexis Nexis, West Law) is needed. Bachelor's or Higher Degree is needed. Extensive experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (or equivalent applications) is essential. Experience in completing projects with tight deadlines, working on multiple project and with multiple clients at the same time, and making work flow adjustments to meet changing conditions and priorities is needed. Knowledge or and experience working with government, administrative, or regulatory agencies in an energy practice is essential. Experience or familiarity with FERC, NERC, or CPUC matters or practice areas are needed.
