A law firm seeks a commercial finance associate attorney with 3 to 7 years of experience to join its team in Indianapolis. The ideal candidate will have a background in representing lenders in commercial finance transactions, including real estate finance, corporate finance, and asset-based lending. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with a focus on complex financial transactions.

Duties:

  • Represent lenders in commercial finance transactions, including real estate finance, corporate finance, and asset-based lending.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements, security documents, and other transactional documents.
  • Conduct due diligence related to commercial finance matters, including real estate and corporate transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients to provide strategic legal counsel on finance-related matters.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys and colleagues to manage complex financial transactions from start to finish.
  • Stay up to date on developments in finance and lending laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Assist with transaction closings, ensuring all legal requirements are met.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 7 years of experience in commercial finance, real estate finance, corporate finance, or asset-based lending.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Indiana, Ohio, or eligible for waiver into these jurisdictions.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating complex finance and lending agreements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Solid understanding of finance and lending laws and regulations.
