Attorney III Duties : Provide advanced legal advise and services to the firm's (firm's) regarding matters of discipline, employment law, personnel law and labor relations law. Review and revise proposed disciplinary actions regarding firm's employees. Review and make recommendations regarding revisions to Office of Personal Standards (OPS) investigative reports pertaining to firm's employees. Represent firm's management in State Personnel Office (SPO) disciplinary appeals involving disciplined firm's Employees, in arbitration involving firm's bargaining units who have been disciplined and in prohibited practices complaint hearings in front of the Public Employee Labor Relations Board (PELRB) and provide regular legal advice to firm's managers regarding American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other areas of employment and personnel law in conjunction with SPO Human Resources (HR) staff.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification : The candidate should have Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited school of law and 5+ years of experience in the practice of law. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results. Must be Licensed as an attorney by the Supreme Court of New Mexico or qualified to apply for limited practice license.
